Meet Sarah Foss
Major: Biology
Goal: Professional school in physical therapy
The hands-on, in-depth preparation of a WSU science degree has positioned Sarah to achieve her goals. Through her Honors Thesis on physical therapy for women with pelvic-floor disorders, she studied her future field in depth.
One of her favorite courses was human anatomy, which included study in a cadaver lab—hands-on experience that students at most schools don’t get until they reach graduate school. The WSU College of Sciences cadaver lab is one of only two in the Northwest, and is the only one in which undergraduates are allowed to study.
“Most anatomy courses just have you study pictures,” says Sarah, “but in my job I won’t be working with pictures, and I know I’ll have to take another cadaver lab in physical therapy school, so I have an advantage for the future.”

“I have an advantage for the future.”
